DESCRIPTION:As large numbers of workers return downtown for in-person work\, we’re calling on them to shop and dine intentionally to support the recovery of downtown’s small and local restaurant and retail businesses. As part of this effort\, we’re issuing five thousand $50 gift card credits\, that can be spent at 100 downtown restaurant and retail businesses participating in our small business support initiative called Downtown Workers Are Here for Portland. We will issue about 500 $50 credits on the days we’re available at Pioneer square. To qualify\, just confirm that you work one or more days per week downtown. See our webpage for more dates and locations as well as a list of participating businesses where the gift card credits can be spent.

DESCRIPTION:In 2020\, multi-instrumentalist Machado Mijiga released an album/video project called “Journal\,” uniting 24 of his favorite drummers to record duets with him remotely and bring together the drum community in a time of crisis. \nNow\, in 2022\, Mijiga brings together a small community of drummers in-person to participate in a drum circle\, where ideas are shared in a Call-and-Response manner\, and the individual voices of Portland’s finest drummers are highlighted in a tradition that is thousands of years old.
