DESCRIPTION:Neighbors will be performing at Noon Tunes over the lunch hour! \nNeighbors is a “garage band\,” whose garage happens to be The Center For Sound\, Light\, and Color AKA Color Therapy Studios in the historic Alberta Arts District of Portland\, OR. Guitarist Mike Gamble\, bassist Garrett Baxter\, and drummer Machado Mijiga formed the band because\, well\, they’re neighbors. \nNeighbors explores indie rock\, pop\, and folk through the lens of jazz improvisation\, playing everything from through-composed compositions\, to simple riffs\, to co-written songs that span multiple genres and aesthetics. \nNeighbors writes and records new music every month—one month\, the band performed 32 freshly written songs at a show in the span of two hours. \nNeighbors seems to bring neighborly music to neighborhoods around the world\, one song at a time. \nThe Noon Tunes Summer Concert Series returns for its 33rd year and expands to Tuesdays and Thursdays June 3 – July 31! DESCRIPTION:Eric John Kaiser  will be performing at Noon Tunes over the lunch hour! \nKnown as The French Troubadour\, Parisian-born Eric John Kaiser is a singer-songwriter reimagining French music through an Americana lens. Eric was born in the southern outskirts of Paris\, in small town called Verrières-le Buisson\, and began learning guitar when he was 10 years old. After years of a classical music education\, he found a teacher that opened him up to the music of the Beatles and Rolling Stones. He began writing songs in his adolescence\, using music as both a diary to channel his experiences and as his personal legacy. After performing over 350 concerts in France\, Eric John Kaiser fell in love with a girl\, a romance which would bring him to Portland\, Oregon where he is currently based. His songs resonate with a genuine Americana rhythm\, like galloping across the vast plains on horseback\, with a western lap steel guitar playing dirty roadhouse blues. \nThe Noon Tunes Summer Concert Series returns for its 33rd year and expands to Tuesdays and Thursdays June 3 – July 31! DESCRIPTION:Cowboy Jazz will be performing at Noon Tunes over the lunch hour! \nCowboy Jazz is a folk/country inspired jazz collective based out of Portland\, Oregon. Members of the quartet\, comprised of alto saxophonist Bryan Smith\, guitarist Ryan Meagher\, bassist Shao Way Wu\, and drummer Jonas Oglesbee\, have collaborated over the past several years with the aim to diversify their musical approach and reach new audiences. Examples include folk and country stylings such as travis picking\, singable melodies\, and slide guitar\, with a mix of complex harmony\, high-flying solos\, and modern jazz sensibilities. Willamette Week says Cowboy Jazz “allows listeners to either take their name and their sound at face value or\, in the pioneer spirit\, join them as they explore new pathways.” In 2024\, Cowboy Jazz released an EP of original music and a full-length album of reimagined American Folk songs\, the latter supported by the Regional Arts and Culture Council.
