Noon Tunes Summer Concert Series

Sherbet Tone will be performing at Noon Tunes over the lunch hour! Sherbet Tone serves up satisfying jangle-pop from Portland, Ore. Conceived as a solo basement project by ex-Genders guitarist Stephen Leisy, a full-length of psychedelic pop (a la The Cleaners from Venus or White Fence) was put to hissy tape and is available for consumption on all streaming platforms. When a band was formed to perform live, new tunes grew ever more jangly, Dwight Twilley Band-inspired, and, dare we say, borderline power pop? The group’s latest EP, lovingly titled Dead Moon T-shirt, was performed live as a full band and captured/engineered by Kyle Morton of Typhoon fame in his basement studio. It’s a testament to how the project has become a group effort. Sherbet Tone is rounded out by Annie Miranda (Soft Cheese, How Strange It Is) on bass, Conner O’Shea (Soft Cheese) on guitar, and Corey Ciresi (Lee Corey Oswald) on drums and vocals.

The Noon Tunes Summer Concert Series returns to The Square for its 34th year on Tuesdays and Thursdays June 2 – July 30! From Noon-1:00pm enjoy a dynamic mix of homegrown music from some of Portland’s top regional and local musical talent. With 18 FREE concerts, dancing, painting at Art in The Park and some of Portland’s favorite food vendors at Carts on the Square, The Square is Downtown’s summer lunchtime destination.
