The changing leaf colors and brisker air brings Autumn to the Square. After a busy Summer of events, the Pioneer Courthouse Square team is seizing this seasonal transition to install 400 new named bricks and to tidy up our City’s Living Room in preparation for the coming holiday season.   This means pressure washing the brick surfaces, polishing plaques, removing graffiti and deep cleaning the highly utilized all-user public restroom.  The Square’s 26 year old wisteria, just off the Starbucks rear patio, has been trimmed for the season and the adjacent weather machine – which will now begin to display the Blue Heron symbol for transitional weather – also received a tune up to keep it operating smoothly.

The permanent and mobile planters throughout the Carts on the Square have been replanted for the season and now include wire vine, hardy mums, cypress, pansies, vinca and creeping jenny.

The Square provides the perfect urban backdrop for you to relax during your lunch hour while watching the leaves change colors on the nearby trees.  The Carts on the Square, composed of five award winning food carts, are open week days 11:00am-3:00pm and offer everything from melty and meaty sandwiches, vegan bowls, fried egg sandwiches, burgers, and Philly cheese steaks.  Delicious!
