What began in Summer 2020 as a creative response to the regulations set forth by COVID, Polka Dot Downtown has invited over 440 artists to present over 200 pop-up performances at the Square and to over 100 locations Downtown. Each of these diverse performances have safely brought artistic expression and social connection to the heart of Portland’s urban landscape.

On the heels of a successful holiday season of performances, Pioneer Courthouse Square is proud to announce the extension of this artistic community programming throughout Spring 2021.  Polka Dot performances will continue in Portland’s Living Room, along its central transit mall and at partner locations throughout our Downtown business and retail core.

Artist’s performances will continue to be shared virtually on the Square’s Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as well as at PolkaDotDowntown.org. Community members can also view past performances from Polka Dots located at iconic cultural institutions like Oregon Historical Society, the Portland Art Museum, Keller Auditorium and, of course, Pioneer Courthouse Square.

We want to thank the generous community sponsors, Melvin Mark, Unico, Lincoln Properties, Halprin Landscape Conservancy, Portland Mall Management, Downtown Portland and Prosper Portland, who have come together to support this unique downtown program and look forward to further supporting the revitalization of Portland’s downtown.
