We welcome you Downtown this month to enjoy the daily Polka Dot Downtown performances held at the Square, on the Central Transit Mall and in the blocks surrounding the Square. In August, the Square’s Polka Dot Downtown program will have hosted more than 775 LIVE artists through grassroots fundraising efforts and community donations. This program has helped to bring human interaction, vibrancy and joy to Downtown at a time when it needs it the most. We are indebted to artists, partners, donors and staff who have helped to breathe creative life into Downtown over the last year.
In addition, joining this month’s programming at the Square we are thrilled to welcome back the Chinese Festival with a day of performances, music, food and art and the India Cultural Association with an afternoon of music and dancing to enhance diverse cultural awareness in the heart of Portland. Both of these cultural festivals are annual events that have been a vital part of our downtown landscape for years and we are excited to welcome them back to our City’s outdoor Living Room.
The Square also invites you to be sure enjoy the array of delicious food from some of Portland’s greatest food carts on your next visit Downtown at The Carts on the Square. Your support of these small businesses helps to keep Downtown thriving.
